The Loftin & Loftin PA Team in Hillsborough, NC
Barbara Merritt, the firm’s office manager, has been with the firm since 1982. Barbara is a lifelong resident of Orange County and remembers fondly growing up on her family’s farm. Her family’s roots in this county run over six generations back. Barbara is proud to be a mother of three (Brad, Monica, and Stephanie) and the grandmother of four (Charles, Owen, Kate, and Jason). Barbara lives with her husband of 51 years, Tommy, who is a real estate developer and jack-of-all-trades.
Sandy Borland Rimmer, the firm’s litigation assistant, joined our firm in December 2005. Sandy hails from a large family in Cedar Grove, Orange County and married into another one. Married 28 years to Darryl, an assistant fire marshal in Chapel Hill, Sandy is the mother of two boys: Zachary who is a civil engineering senior at NCSU and Garret who is an Orange High School junior interested in studying construction management. Sandy has previously worked in daycare, as a substitute teacher, as a volunteer with the Orange County School System, and in other areas of the legal industry before making our firm her home.
Kenzie Swajkoski, the firm’s newest office manager, joined the firm in March 2017. Kenzie was born and raised in Burlington, NC, where she lives with her family. Kenzie attended Meredith College and East Carolina before getting her Cosmetologist license. Married three years to JD, a teacher in Alamance County, they have started their family with a sassy little girl, Libby, and her four-legged best friend, Ellie. It’s fitting she works in a law firm as her mother always said she could argue with a stop sign.
Jessica Kimball, the firm’s real estate assistant, joined the firm in November 2016. Born and raised in Hillsborough, she now calls Mebane home. Jessica has been married for eight years to Stephen, and is raising their two boys, Landon (11) and Aaiden (7). Before making our firm her home, Jessica has worked in Real Estate since 2010.
*Above all, Barbara, Sandy, Jessica and Kenzie love and understand children. Accordingly, they get along well with John.
